COMPANY
Message from the President
Greetings
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our customers for their continued support. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of our business partners for their ongoing cooperation.
While global instability, including the invasion of Ukraine that began on February 24, 2022, and ongoing tensions in the Middle East, remains unresolved, Japan continues to face rising prices for rice, meat, and other essential goods. As real wage growth has yet to keep pace with these increases, living conditions remain challenging, and consumers are becoming increasingly cautious with their spending.
Amid these circumstances, we marked our 60th anniversary last year and established our VISION as “To become a company chosen by the future”. The “future” refers to “future customers”, “future colleagues”, and “future society". At 1&D, we have been implementing various initiatives aimed at contributing to the future.
For “future customers”, continuously refining and improving our existing business models remains essential, both now and in the years ahead.
In August 2025, One Dining opened “ABURIYA Nguyen Dinh Chieu” in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The restaurant has been well received locally as an authentic Japanese-style yakiniku restaurant and has made a strong start. This year, we will aim to develop multiple locations by enhancing the current store and promoting the development of subsequent stores.
At Dairiki, “Dairiki Nikushokudo, an iron-plate set-meal and bento store” that opened inside Ito-Yokado Kuki in November last year, has also made a steady start. This year, we will further evolve this concept and aim to expand into shopping center food courts, food halls, restaurant areas, and station-adjacent locations. By utilizing the expertise cultivated as a meat specialty retailer, we will continue to develop this format and grow it into a key pillar for future store expansion.
Through these new businesses and new regions, we will strive to earn the trust and support of future customers.
For “future colleagues", we will begin introducing new personnel and compensation systems to achieve both job satisfaction and a comfortable working environment. We will continue to develop career path plans that can adapt to diverse values.
For “future society”, we will further advance management aligned with the SDGs while expanding opportunities for foreign nationals to play active roles. In addition, while we have been certified as a Health and Productivity Management Organization for six consecutive years, we will continue to aim for White 500 recognition.
As our mission to realize our vision, which is “To redefine values unique to Japan and bring happiness to people in Japan and around the world”, we seek to make this a year in which everyone involved with 1&D can move forward toward the future they aspire to.
Last year’s 60th anniversary was a period in which we took on many new challenges. As we move toward our 100th anniversary, 2026 is an extremely important year and the starting point for creating a new future.
This year as well, we will continue to move forward with determination to achieve our goals. We sincerely ask for your continued support.
